It all started back in 1989 when a friend of mine named Scott Moroney got me into spinning vinyl. Scott would amaze me with the things he would do with a bunch of records, two turntables and a mixer. We would go over his house a couple times a month to ride bikes and mix tapes. From the beginning, Scott would never just play one type of music, he would always play everything from Hip-Hop to Freestyle to Electronica. His mixes of Depeche Mode's, "Enjoy The Silence" pretty much solidified my love for mixing back in the late eighties and it is a love that is still with me today.

As time when on, I bought my own mixer, a Radio Shack Realistic mixer that I think all the older DJs started with. I bought two belt drive turntables and a few records. This was about 1989. From then on I practiced everyday until my mixing sounded smoother and smoother. There were no pitch controls on these turntables so your finger had to be a pitch control to slow and speed up the record to match the beat. Hours of practice and many records when into perfecting this style. Later on I finally bought some turntables with pitch controls and it was the start of a new beginning for me and mixing. During the early nineties I DJ'ed many house parties, frat parties and raves. I was going to school at Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire when I started to host my own radio show on Thursday nights called "Journey Into House" on 91.3 WKNH The year was 1994. The show would run from 12am to 2am with non-stop mixing. This was a big deal in this little town because all the radio stations were lame and the good ones from Boston would not come in. The show gained popularity and I started to DJ more stuff around town and I even ventured to several nearby clubs in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts to play for the "hardcore" few.

My inspirations for DJing at this time would be DJs like Todd Terry, David Morales, Clivilles and Cole and the one and only Tony De Vit. When I heard Todd Terry's "Hear The Music" on Hot 97 in New York in the early nineties I was instantly hooked on House Music. The song blew me away. Locally, the radio station at the time was Boston's WZOU 94.5 where DJs Neil Petricone, Gary Cannavo and Damian Paul would turn it out on the radio every weekend. Damian Paul was one of my biggest influences due to his super clean mixing and his "hook and sling" way of DJing for the crowd. He would play a song everybody would know then "sling" on something brand new and dope. He introduced a lot of new music to people and to me he defined what being a great DJ was all about.

About 1997 I started to get really well known in my area and I was DJing in New Hampshire 2-3 time a week at a club called CR Goodys for about 2 years. I would rotate between this club and another CR Goodys in Fitchurg, MA every month. It was a lot of fun but the club eventually went out of business due to poor management. I still DJed and was making tapes to sell and give to people. I eventually finished school in 1998 with a degree in Sociology and moved out to San Diego in the summer of 1998. Currently I am not in any clubs but would love to play somewhere at least one night a week. I love DJing and the music. Buying records for me is a weekly ritual. The motivation for this website came from all of my friends over the years bugging me to start something so more people can hear my mixes. Thanks for checking out my site, see you on the dance floor.....
